ALLERGIES

Like humans, dogs and cats suffer from allergies and atopy.

The most common triggers are:

- dust mites and forage mites

- pollen

- flea saliva

- food intolerances

Through a blood test or an intradermal test, we can accurately determine what causes your animal’s reaction.

The symptoms of an allergy or atopy are:

a) skin problems: itching, eczema, hair loss, purulent skin inflammation,

malassezia dermatitis, and/or recurrent ear infections.

b) gastrointestinal disorders with frequent diarrhea and/or vomiting.

What can we do about it?

Depending on the cause and the resulting problems, we can put your animal on a specific

immunotherapy.

This means that a personally tailored solution for desensitization is prepared for your pet.

Over a long period of time or for your pet’s lifetime, the solution is injected at specific intervals.

In the case of food allergies, a so-called elimination diet (exclusion diet) is used, or if cooking meals for your pet is not possible, a special food for allergies is selected.

Later, after settling of the organism, single food components are selected and added to the diet until we determine what your pet can and cannot tolerate.

In case of flea saliva allergies a complete prophylaxis is best.
