X-RAY

We have all of the equipment required to perform and evaluate X-rays of your animal in our practice.

We generally X-ray only when it is necessary in order to help your pet.

For examinations of pregnant pets, we prefer to use ultrasound!

In some cases, for example x-rays of the hip (HD) or recordings of the head or teeth, your pet will need to be sedated.

Sedation is necessary when we require relaxed muscles in your pet’s thighs so that the hip joint can be properly assessed, or in cases where your pet may not be compliant in an unfamiliar and perhaps uncomfortable position.

In many situations we are able to avoid using medications by simply being patient and reassuring!
