DENTISRY / DENTAL CARE

Like us our pets suffer from dental problems.

In our vet office we :

-  Remove plaque by ultrasound

-  and polish the teeth after the removal

-  Pull diseased teeth

-  Pull milk teeth that won ́t fall out by themselves on time

-  Correct rodents teeth

Depending on the pet ́s individual disposition, sedation may be required  for regular removal of plaque in dogs and cats. The sedation is needed since animals will not tolerate the high-pitched noise of the ultrasound device whilst awake.

After tooth cleaning and a final polish of the tooth surface, we will of course inform you about possible prevention measures so that this intervention is needed as infrequently as possible.

If your pet needs braces to prevent malocclusion or you wish to get a fake tooth instead of pulling the hurting tooth, we will refer you to a vet dentistry clinic.

For dogs and cats we always have dental care kits (toothbrush, finger toothbrush, enzymatic toothpaste and pet-friendly) available for you.

In addition, we can provide food and drinking water additives that help to slow down the formation of plaque significantly.

Also useful for dogs are chews with enzymes that keep the teeth clean mechanically.

On request, we can order dental care food for your pet.

Rabbits and guinea pigs often have congenital malocclusion requiring periodic correction.

If possible, we proceed without sedation.

We shorten fast-growing front teeth, preferably with the blade, so no tooth fractures occur.

The cheek teeth are grounded with a diamond file or as required under anesthesia with a rotating diamond cutter.
